Who we are

Danger Tomato Productions is an artist led film production company based in Sydney Australia.

Founded in 2025 by Karina Summers and Josh Billig, Danger Tomato has a slate of projects in film, theatre, television and interactive, ranging from micro-budget, to blow-your-mind premium.

So what makes us tomatoes so dangerous? Good question. We explore stories that disrupt that status quo, finding authentic characters and storyworlds that are invisible to the naked eye. What interests us is asking what happens after the tomato gets squished?

I'm Josh...

Hey there. I'm a writer and producer. I've written across most mediums - film, theatre, television, webseries, musicals, video games, comic books, children's tv, animation, as well as adapting projects across mediums, ghostwriting, and running writers rooms on other people's projects. Basically I just really love writing, particularly when it gets collaborative and suddenly weird worlds start to open up in weird ways.

As a producer, I've brought a handful of projects to life, including short films, pilots and features. I've dug through dumpsters, pleaded with musicians, and taken on extrememly challenging creative risks while staying within budgets.

We started Danger Tomato because we want to imagine into the world the sorts of opportunities for artists that seem fleeting these days.

I'm Karina...

But you can call me Kaz. I am a professionally trained and working Actress in theatre, film and television and have performed professionally on 4 continents!

I was very fortunate to study at LaSalle College of the Arts in Singapore on scholarship where I received a Bachelor of First Class Honors in Acting and then continued to work for 5 years in Asia full-time as an Actor.

From 2012-2021 I relocated to New York City to study and work as an actor and had some really wonderful experiences.

From 2018 I was focusing on education and social justice, getting my Masters Degree (whilst pregnant...twice...phoo!) in applied theater from City University of New York graduating in 2020. My thesis was facilitating clowning in a harm reduction community and it was truly amazing!

I have now relocated back to Sydney Australia with my family and have been getting back into theater, film and television. I have been fortunate to book several national TVC's, feature films and short films.
